2005 Estate Pinot Noir and 2005 Sasso

Stefano Lubiana Estate 2005 Pinot Noir $48.00: Deliciously pure dark plum flavours on a beautifully focused, balanced and harmonious palate, richly intense, elegant, deep and a long, mouth-flooding aftertaste.

Stefano Lubiana 2005 Sasso Pinot Noir $78.00: Lubiana’s pick of the bunch from a top vintage, headily perfumed nose and powerful, macerated plums and fabulous earthy, truffley nuances on a wonderfully rich, smooth and tightly packed palate, the flavours filling and dancing in the mouth for ages. Yum - bottled decadence.

2006 Stefano Lubiana Estate Pinot Noir

Always a wine of complexity and texture without simplistic fruitiness. Lubiana pinots look at their best after 3-4 years in big glasses with food. Spicy, cherry fruit but with secondary flavours of anise, mocha and game.

2007 Stefano Lubiana Primavera Pinot Noir

Early drinking style, bright, fresh and fruit.
Terrific with spicy dishes.

2008 Alfresco Stefano Lubiana
$28.00 {3 Bottles}

The second year we’ve seen this low-alcohol, grapey, Moscato-style Riesling from Lubiana with its light spritz, touch of residual sweetness and scintillating freshness.
A great cleansing palate pleaser to service ice cold as a veranda or stand-at-the-bar quaffer. 8.5pc

Steve Lubiana, winemaker, Stefano Lubiana Wines. “I think a different kind of sparkling wine will become more popular. A wine more in a frizzante style (Italian term for semi-sparkling wine), like moscato but not so sweet. Last year we made about 200 cases of our first Alfresco with Riesling grapes with around eight grams of sugar and it flew out the door. This year we’re making 700 cases.”

2008 Stefano Lubiana Alfresco $24
A welcome addition to the growing band of sweetish-but-crisp, light, Germanic Rieslings, this 8.5 per cent alc/vol beauty has finely balanced juicy Tasmanian green apples and lime pith. Steve Lubiana calls it, cutely, the perfect
pre-aperitif.

2007 Stefano Lubiana Riesling

Lime blossom aromas and a creamily textured palate
of precise, pristine fruit around a wonderfully refined and
pure core of zesty acid running to a crisp finish that goes
on and on.
