Sauvignon Blanc
2005 Sauvignon Blanc
“Attractively feminine, nectarines and flowers, some flint too, with sweet tropical fruit on the palate and a great balance of fruit and acid, a bright lift and a dry finish. Serve this one really cool for extra refreshment. 91 points.” The Adelaide Advertiser Top 100, 15th November 2006, Tony Love 2004 Sauvignon Blanc tropical characters. A full palate with lovely long even, even flavours. Has enough power and personality but is very gentle. An excellent wine. Wine Industry Journal. Vol 20 No. 2. March-April 2005 2004 Sauvignon Blanc
A riper, more tropical fruit flavoured style... fuller and smoothly textured with an underlay of good varietal spice and a lovely rich, suckable finish. 4 bottles (out of five) ‘Very good’ The Sunday Tasmanian, 26 December 2004 Graeme Phillips 2004 Sauvignon Blanc
Our 2004 Sauvignon Blanc was judged best Sauvignon Blanc in Philip White’s Top 100 in the Adelaide Advertiser in November. Out of 62 Sauvignon Blanc’s tasted only four were reviewed with Stefano Lubiana topping the stakes with 94 points. Interestingly Tasmania scored well with two wines in the top four – 2004 Dalrymple (Pipers Brook) scoring 93 points. The other two Sauvignon Blanc’s were 2004 Katnook Estate (Coonawarra) 93 points and 2004 Paracombe (Adelaide Hills) 93 points. Here is what Philip White had to say: “There’s plenty of vibrant grassiness expected of cool climate sauvignon here, and a top note of fiery gunpowder, but also tropical fruits, like the fleshy lychee, to balance. The palate’s plush and smooth, with lovely viscosity, weight and persistence. It’s highly rewarding watching the flavours grow more complex as this special chemical-free vineyard on the Derwent ages. Mediterranean salad and smoked sardines.” 94 Points The Adelaide Advertiser Top 100, 24 November 2004 Philip White |
