Limited Museum Release | Six Generations 6-pack
This limited Museum Release captures our family's journey. Each bottle represents not only a particular vintage, but a chapter in six generations of family winemaking, from the lessons learnt around my grandfather's kitchen table to the biodynamic vineyards we are privileged to steward today.
We have selected a pigeon pair of some of our key expressions and releases over the years, from 2005 to current release 2024's. We hope that as you open each bottle, you taste not only the wine, but the generations behind it.
1 x 2005 Estate Pinot Noir - Planting vines all those years ago, we are proud to have had an Estate Pinot Noir since 1996. This 2005 More spice such as star anise and baking spice with fruit in the background. Elegant, with weighted density and fine grained tannins. Ready to enjoy now.
1 x 2005 Merlot - 2005, now over 2 decades ago! Now our Merlot is blended with the neighbouring rows of Malbec, which are co-fermented together to make the modern day 'Chicane' Bordelasie blend. This wine presents mulberry, violets and lavender. There is a rich palate, with a generous finish. Ready to enjoy now.
1 x 2017 Estate Chardonnay - 2017 has been one of our favourite vintages of chardonnay in recent years. This chardonnay oozes gooseberry, white strawberry and fine minerality. The acid is tightly wound and nearly a decade on it could be aged further or decanted this year.
1 x 2017 Syrah - Since this first vintage (2017) Syrah has been part of the Granton Estate vineyard's story. Crafted in a cooler climate style, we see more spice and soft tannins than warmer climate Shiraz. This Syrah is expressive of the year with a depth of flavour, white pepper, blackberry and ceylon finishing with savoury tannins.
1 x 2024 Pinot Gris - Our current release, showcasing the style and expression we bottle today. This same style since 2018 with 2 days of skin contact, after trialling different techniques I learnt overseas working vintages in Italy and France. Aromatic with rose water, apricot and quince this wine is textural and drinks deliciously well.
1 x 2024 Estate Pinot Noir - A jewel in the crown, winning best Australian Pinot Noir. The wine leaps out of the glass with attractive damson plum, dark cherry and dried strawberry. The finish is long and savoury with fine grained tannins. A complex wine which will age extremely well.
