Other Red Varieties
Alongside Pinot Noir we grow other red varieteis such as Merlot, Malbec and Syrah. We have fashioned a Bordeaux blend of Merlot & Malbec and we call this blend Chicane. In our Estate we have two small plantings of Syrah, as we personally enjoy Northern Rhone style wines. It is exciting to show the world what else Tasmania is capable of. Whilst Pinot Noir is our focus, these other reds are equal in standing and quality and an opportunity to enjoy something diverse.
A gorgeous, Bordelaise-style expression of our vineyards, weaving together Merlot and Malbec. Destemmed and co-fermented before being matured for 16 months in a mix of 228L French oak barriques (15% new).

Our Estate grown 2023 Syrah biodynamic is an ode to the wines of the Northern Rhone Valley. A cool-climate Syrah, that trades brashness for elegance because of its bounty of naturally fine tannins. A lovely bouquet with the palate following with voluptuous savouriness, texture and satisfaction.
